Happy Friday! Today’s Famous Friday highlights the actor, singer, and model Zoë Kravitz.

 

Kravitz was born in 1988 in Venice, Los Angeles to the famous musician Lenny Kravitz and actor Lisa Bonet who are both half-White and half African-American. In addition, she possesses family relations to Roxie and Al Roker. Due to her heavily celebrity-influenced childhood, Zoë Kravitz began her career at an extremely early age.

 

After appearing in several acting roles at age 9, a year later, Kravitz performed in the “I Know” music video by Jay Z and sang in will.i.am’s “We are the Ones” to support Barack Obama’s candidacy for the 2008 presidential election. The following year she was the face of Vera Wang’s Princess fragrance which commenced her modeling career. Subsequently, she appeared in many more films and television shows including her representation of the character Angel Salvadore in X-Men: First Class which further launched her acting career in 2011 as she was nominated for a Scream Award and a Teen Choice Award.

 

Her career continued further after co-starring in After Earth and creating the R&B and electro pop band Lolawolf. After acting in additional films such as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, she began her first work portraying Catwoman in The Lego Batman Movie which she later continued when acting in the live-action movie as Catwoman in The Batman.

 

In many of her later works from 2017 to the present, she received award nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award and the Saturn Award. In 2022, Kravitz was also given the title of 100 Most Influential People in Time Magazine. Currently, she continues her work as musician and a model in fashion where she has been featured by Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, Calvin Klein, Coach New York, Tiffany & Co, Tumi, Vera Wang, and YSL Beauté. All of her accomplishments as a proud Multiracial individual continue to inspire and influence the Multiracial community today!
