Happy Friday! Today’s article will be highlighting actress Lauren London. London was born in Los Angeles on December 5, 1984. Her mother is African-American and her father is Ashkenazi Jewish.

Lauren London has had roles in several films and television series, but she started out by being in a few music videos for popular artists like Snoop Dogg and Pharell. Her television debut began with the episode “Everybody Hates Funerals”, from the show Everybody Hates Chris, in 2006. From there she got a lead role in her first film: ATL (2006). London was nominated at the Black Movie Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for her work in ATL. After that, Lauren London starred in This Christmas (2007) with famous actors including Loretta Devine, Regina King and Idris Elba. Afterwards, she landed a role in I Love You, Beth Cooper (2009). She has been in several other films throughout her career including, Madea’s Big Happy Family (2011), The Perfect Match (2016), and Without Remorse (2021) opposite Micheal B Jordan. She has also had multiple cameos in television shows such as Keeping Up with the Karsashians, The Game, and True Story, among others. Most recently, Lauren London starred in You People, released on Netflix this year. This film is about an interracial couple who fall in love and the conflict-resolution that occurs between the families of different backgrounds.

Outside of acting, London is a mother to her two sons, Kameron and Kross. She had her oldest child, Kameron Carter, with rapper Lil Wayne in September of 2009. London later had her second son, Kross Ermias Asghedom, with rapper Nipsey Hussle in August of 2016. Since losing Hussle to murder in 2019, Lauren London has helped to honor him and keep his memory alive, as well as publically share about her grief journey.
