Happy Friday everyone! I’m Allan Rempel and I’m highlighting Reece James!

Reece James is the right-back for Chelsea. Reece James is a crucial player for both Chelsea and England. Reece James has many significant accomplishments like winning the Champions League, but let’s take a deeper look into his career.

Reece James was born on December 8th, 1999. Reece James’ father is Jamaican while his mother is white. James signed with Chelsea when he was just 8 years old where he began to play for their academy.

James was loaned out to Championship club wigan Athletic where he would make his first-team debut on August 4th, 2018, helping his team beat Sheffield Wednesday in a 3-2 win. James scored his first professional goal for Wigan on November 4th, 2018, with a free kick in a 2-1 loss to Leeds United.

After the 2018-19 season, James went back to Chelsea for the 2019-20 season where he would score and had 2 assists on his debut in a 7-1 win over Grimsby Town. In the 2019-20 season, James would become Chelsea’s youngest scorer in the champions league in a 4-4 draw against Ajax on November 5th.

Unfortunately, after this season Reece James was subject to racism online. He, unfortunately, had to delete his Instagram account because of the racism he was receiving.

In the 2020-2021 season, Reece James won his first-ever Champions League where he played a crucial role as a right-back. Unfortunately, this season he missed the world cup and a large portion of the beginning of the season because of injury, but he has since made a recovery. It is good that he made that recovery because he helped Chelsea win against Dortmund in the round of 16 in the Champions league.

Reece James’ has already had such a great career at such a young age, I can’t wait to watch more of him!
