My name is Allan Rempel and today I am highlighting Jules Koundé who is playing as a defender for France in the World Cup Final!

Jules Koundé was born on November 12th, 1998. Koundé is half Benines and half French.

On January 7th, 2018, Koundé made his professional debut with Bordeaux against Coupe de France in a 2-1 loss. On July 3rd, 2019 Koundé signed for La Liga club Sevilla. The transfer fee was 25 million euros. In his first season, Koundé helped Sevilla win the Europa League for the sixth time. He was also named in the competition’s team of the season.

On July 29th, 2022, Koundé signed for Barcelona. He made his debut for Barcelona on August 28th against Real Valladolid in a 4-0 win.

Before the World Cup, Koundé had made debuted for France on June 2nd, 2022 in a friendly against Wales and played in the UEFA EURO 2020 (which wasn’t played until 2021 because of the pandemic).

Koundé has been doing amazing for such a young player. He has played 362 minutes for France this world cup and played a crucial role in the semi-finals to get France to the World Cup Finals. Koundé is set to play in the finals and will likely make an impact.

I am so excited to see Koundé in the World Cup Finals this Sunday! He is such a promising young player and will have a big impact on France’s defense. I hope you all have an amazing Friday!
