Hi everyone, this week we will be highlighting Tia Mowry. Tia Mowry is an American actress, she and her twin sister Tamera Mowry starred together in the Disney Channel movie Twitches in 2005 and the sequel Twitches Too in 2007.
Tia Mowry was born in Gelnhausen, West Germany on July 6, 1978, to Darlene Reneé Mowry who is of Afro-Bahamian descent and to Timothy John Mowry who is of English and Irish descent. Tia’s family became very close-knit and were very spiritual; the sisters became Christian’s at the age of 8. Both of Tia’s parents joined the U.S. Army and both reached the rank of Sergeant. Besides her twin sister Tia also has two younger brothers, Tahj Mowry who is an actor and Tavior Mowry who is a musician. When the twins were twelve, they convinced their mother to move to California so that they could pursue acting. Their mother said yes but the condition was that they had to get an acting job within the first month of them moving. In 1990 they moved to California and settled permanently in Los Angeles. The sisters began to appear in commercials and small roles. As the siblings grew up, they performed in many different shows like Sister, Sister and Full House. After the show ended the sisters went to Pepperdine University to study psychology. Tia eventually went to Europe to study humanities and Italian. In 2000 Tia met actor Cory Hardrict on the set of their film, Hollywood Horror. The two dated for 6 years and in 2006 they got engaged. On April 20, 2008, they got married in California. On January 11, 2011 Tia announced that they were expecting their first child and it was documented on the show Tia & Tamara. On June 28, 2011 Tia gave birth to her son, Cree Taylor. On November 8, 2017 she announced that she was pregnant with a girl. Her daughter, Cairo Tiahna, was born on May 5, 2018.
