J. Cole

Jermaine Cole, known as J. Cole, was born to a white mother and a black father in Frankfurt, Germany. He was raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

We’ve highlighted J. Cole on a Famous Friday before, so we know that he’s considered one of the best rappers of his generation. We know that he gained his fame from projects like The Come Up and The Warm Up. We know that he followed these up with hit albums like Born Sinner, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, and KOD. We know that he feels his multiracial identity gives him a unique and valuable perspective. We might even know that he played basketball in college.

You might not know, however, that J. Cole released his sixth Studio Album, The Off-Season, last Friday, and you may not know that he also played his first professional basketball game this week for the Rwanda Patriots of the Basketball Africa League. Needless to say, Cole has had quite the week, from scoring his first professional basket to releasing songs with fellow rap giants like 21 Savage and Lil Baby.

At 36 years old, J. Cole is showing no signs of slowing down. So, whether it’s on the radio or on the hardwood, make sure to keep an eye out for more from J. Cole.
