My name is Emma, and I’m applying for the Thomas J Watson Fellowship which is a grant that supports a year of independent study. My project proposal centers around two main ideas: learning how mixed people understand their identity and investigating if mixed people share a common experience regardless of where they live. I will then apply this knowledge to my own journey as a mixed person when I connect with my Chilean heritage.
