Happy Friday everyone! I’m AJ Rempel, highlighting the artist Victoria Walker, more commonly known as PinkPantheress!
Walker is a pop artist who has a 90s and 2000s style. She was born in England, on April 18, 2001, to a Kenyan mother and an English. Victoria started her love for music at a young age when she took piano lessons at 12. When she was 14 she was the lead singer in a rock band that would cover songs by My Chemical Romance, Paramore, and Green Day.
At 17, Pinkpantheress started her career by using GarageBand and posting on Soundcloud. 4 years later in December 2020, she posted a snippet of her song Just a Waste which received over 500,000 likes.
This kicked off her career where she got two more hit songs, Pain and Break it Off, on TikTok in early 2021. The song Pain peaked at number 35 on the UK Singles Chart in August of 2021. This makes me admire Walker’s persistence and patience, she worked on music for 5 years before she got her deserved success.
2023 has been a remarkable year for Pinkpantheress. In February she released Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2 with Ice Spice. This debuted at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100. In November she released her debut album, Heaven Knows. My favorite song on that album is Nice to Meet You featuring Central Cee.
I’m so excited to see Pinkpantheresse’s future work and her performance as an opener at Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour in the summer of 2024!
