Happy Friday everyone! I’m AJ Rempel and I’m highlighting Brittany Collins, more commonly known as Coi Leray!

Collins was born on May 11, 1997, in Boston, Massachusetts. Her mom, Debra Antney, is Danish and Cape Verdean and her dad is Black and Puerto Rican. Her mom heavily influenced her career, Antney was known for managing artists like Gucci Mane and Nicki Minaj.

Coi Leray started her music career in 2017, but it really kicked off in 2018 when she released her single Huddy. A year later she signed with Republic Records and worked with many other successful artists. Brittany has worked with famous artists like Gunna, Lil Tecca, and NLE Choppa. Songs you probably have heard by Coi Leray are TWINNEM, which Blew up on TikTok, Self Love, this song was played in Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse, and Girls Is Players Too which also blew up on TikTok.

Coi Leray dropped an album called Coi and sold 10,000 and three of her songs made the Hot 100. Even with this great success, she isn’t done, she has concerts in Austin Texas, Atlanta Georgia, and Melbourne Australia, this upcoming September and October.

It’s very inspiring to see Coi Leray’s success and I can’t wait to see what she does next!
