It has been reported that Evanston, Illinois School Board member Hecky Powell has removed the "MUTT" special from his restaurant menu and ceased selling MUTT T-shirts. This was in response to a demonstration held by Project RACE members (see "Trouble in Illinois" and "Action in Illinois") and interracial families in Evanston.

The Evanston Press reported that they were notified of the action on Tuesday, June 17, following the demonstration on Monday, June 16. Project RACE members will continue calling for Mr. Powell's removal from the school board and barring the existing T-shirts from schools in Evanston and the surrounding areas.
